Initial purchases of Senior, Disabled, Medicare, and Youth transit passes on Compass Cards must be made in person and require I.D. Now your Regional Monthly Pass is available on the Compass Card—San Diego’s new
smart card for transit! As part of the Compass Card introduction, your Compass Card is free (a
$5 value—while supplies last).
The Compass Card is reusable, reloadable and it offers new flexible pass choices. When you first
purchase your Compass Card, it will be a calendar monthly pass. From then on, you can reload your
card as either a calendar monthly pass or a 30-day pass.
- Calendar monthly passes are valid from the first to the last day of the month.
- 30-day passes can be reloaded on any day of the month to receive 30 consecutive days of riding

Description: The Regional Monthly pass or 30-Day pass is good for
stated month unlimited riding on all Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) and North County
Transit District (NCTD) BREEZE bus services up to $2.50 cash fare and
on all San Diego Trolley/SPRINTER trips. Valid on San Diego County Rural Routes with
a $1.00 cash upgrade. Cash upgrade required on COASTER, commuter express buses and
DART. Not valid on special service buses or ADA Complementary Paratransit Service.
Pass must be retained by user during trip and shown upon request. No transfers issued
with pass use. Issuer not responsible for lost or stolen passes. Improper use may
result in confiscation and/or legal action. MTS and NCTD reserve the right to
replace/confiscate pass at any time. Willful damage of equipment will result in the
confiscation of the pass. The pass is not transferable. Not for resale.
